Nice to meet you!

I’m a Ph.D. researcher and visual storyteller who blends science and visual art to highlight themes of conservation and transition that are hidden all around us. My work serves as a bridge between artful observation and viewer education, and my greatest hope is that when you spend time with my immersive Visual Stories, you will walk away with newfound knowledge and a deeper appreciation for topics and places most people know little about!

I’m currently based in Las Vegas, Nevada, but am fortunate to travel widely for research, personal projects, and photography education with Muench Workshops

When I first began in photography, I didn’t know where it would take me. But now, a decade into this career, I’m proud to say that it has carried me to the ends of the Earth and back many times over. Over the years, I’ve grown to specialize in the polar regions - particularly the Arctic - where I am endlessly captivated by the unique light, landscapes, species, and shifting ice.

“The Arctic is a place of constant becoming and unbecoming - a world of transition and endless anticipation.”

As an Arctic specialist, I’ve spent a significant amount of time exploring the far north, and my travels in Greenland have inspired numerous academic research projects, including my Ph.D. dissertation, which models Indigenous perspectives on contemporary challenges to subsistence hunting.  This curiosity is echoed in my photographic pursuits, which visually explore the real-world aspects of my academic subjects.

To further this mission, I’ve partnered with filmmaker Ashlei Payne to produce a documentary about the modern changes of hunting culture in northern Greenland. Learn more about this project and how you can support it here:

I hope you will discover that my work is about more than photography.  Through merging science and art, I wish to emotionally connect viewers to places few will ever visit and to raise awareness that climate-threatened landscapes are more than data points, charts, and statistics – they’re living places that deserve to be protected in their own right.

As an educator, I prioritize enhancing awareness and appreciation of the natural world through speaking engagements and hands-on education.  My photography workshops focus on introducing others to these magical and remote places and creating a deeper understanding of the environment while also learning new technical skills. I’m proud to be a Pro with Muench Workshops, which offers incredible and immersive photography experiences worldwide.
